As part of the international effort to end child labor and sweatshops, the Labor-Religion Coalition's Sweatshop-free Campaign supports efforts to direct the purchasing power of schools and governments towards responsible manufacturers of all kinds of uniforms, sports equipment, logo-bearing items and other apparel. An array of campaign resources are available. Contact us to schedule a nuts and bolts training using these materials. Check our What's New section for campaign updates.
Sweatshop-free New York
The Coalition's 40-hour FAST remembers the Triangle factory fire 100 years later, calls attention to life-threatening conditions in the global garment industry and asks New Yorkers to take steps to end state purchasing from sweatshops. A letter to Governor Cuomo will help assure NYS leadership in the Sweatfree Purchasing Consortium. See more about NYS's role in the Consortium. See our Make NY Sweatshop-Free Campaign news release [PDF].
