Labor Day | Worker Memorial Day | Kairos Project | Labor Seder | Action Updates | Wage Theft
Linked by the ethical imperative “to treat others the way you want them to treat you,” the Labor-Religion Coalition collaborates with diverse religious organizations and people of faith to increase social and economic justice, especially in the workplace. The Coalition acts with and for the poor and needy. It promotes/leads interfaith services each year on Labor Day and Worker Memorial Day, April 28. The Coalition’s 40-Hour FAST invites prayer, reflection, education and action on one or more ethical issues of importance to New Yorkers. In New York's Sullivan County, the Coalition is part of the Kairos Project. While the coalition calls upon religious values, it does not adhere to or promote the religious doctrine of any faith group. For more information about partnerships among religious and labor organizations, visit the site of the national organization Interfaith Worker Justice including the national campaign against wage theft. The Labor-Religion Coalition of New York State and several local LRCs are part of the IWJ network.
