Equal Rights For Farmworkers
330 Miles Toward Justice
March to Albany

April 19-April 30, 2003

Sponsored by Centro Independiente de Trabajadores Agricolas (CITA)
and the Justice For Farmworkers Coalition

Farmworkers in New York are excluded from the following basic human rights A DAY OF REST —OVERTIME PAY —DISABILITY INSURANCE —COLLECTIVE BARGAINING PROTECTIONS

The federal case of farmworker slavery in western New York this past year is
ample proof that farmworkers are vulnerable. The New York State Senate and the Governor have consistently refused farmworkers their dignity and their equality. They refuse to pass legislation that removes all of the
legislative exclusions that deny farmworkers equality. For information about the Farmworkers Fair Labor Practices Act, click here.

Join farmworkers as they march both from eastern and western New York to demand that they be treated with respect and equality. The new web site of Rural and Migrant Ministry features a sample letter of support and resolution of support (for a group), plus photos, daily journal entries and news clippings!

For details about the April 30, 2003 events in Albany, click here. At the rally at 1 p.m. on the steps of the state Capitol, marchers will be joined by Dolores Huerta, a co-founder—with the late Cesar Chavez—of United Farm Workers (UFW) in Delano, CA.
