Tuesday, March 1
11 AM— Statewide Opening News Conference. Labor-Religion Coalition leaders, including Roman Catholic Bishop Howard J. Hubbard, NYSUT President, Thomas Hobart and others will address the theme, "Health Care for All: The Moral Prescription." Koinonina Primary Care, 553 Clinton Avenue, Albany. Use N. Lake entrance. 7-8 PM— Opening of the Fast with a "Circle of Sharing" about health care security, St. John's Lutheran Church, 160 Central Avenue, Albany. Click here for a FAST flyer to print and share.

Wednesday, March 2
3:30-5:30 PM— Hungry-for-Health-Care WALK. Join us as we walk from clinic to clinic in Albany. Click here for details about the stops on the WALK.

Thursday, March 3
NOON—Breaking of the Fast. Light lunch, interfaith reflections and next steps toward Health Care for All. Emmanuel Baptist Church, 275 State Street, Albany.

Binghamton

 

Brockport

Tuesday, March 1
6-8 PM—Opening of the fast will begin with a potluck meal, followed with a service starting at 7 PM. The service will include sharing of stories from several farmworkers about health issues, past or current. First Presbyterian Church, 35 State Street, Brockport, NY. Buffalo

Tuesday, March 1

Ithaca

Tuesday, March 1
6:30 PM—Pre-Fast Meal and Service, bring a dish to pass. The service, "Health Care for All: The Moral Prescription." will begin at 7:30 PM. Rev. Will Baez and Justine Waldman. First Baptist Church, DeWitt Park in Ithaca. All are welcome to participate in the fast events, whether or not you may be fasting. Sponsored by the Religious Task Force of the Tompkins County Living Wage Coalition, Catholic Charities and the First Presbyterian Church Justice and Peace and Integrity of Creation Committee.

Wednesday, March 2
9 AM to 4 PM—Space for Prayer or Meditation and Videos shown on the
half hour (see schedule below). First Presbyterian Church, Ithaca. Enter through green door on Court Street.

Thursday, March 3
Noon—The Health Care Crisis in Local Government. Brown bag lunch with Tim Joseph, Chair of Tompkins County Board of Representatives, First Baptist Church, DeWitt Park in Ithaca.

Video Schedule To be shown March 2, 9 AM to 4 PM, in the First Presbyterian Church, Ithaca.

1. Maurice Hinchey-Supports a National Health Care Plan (Dan Lamb
on health care reform). 30 minutes.

2. The New Medicare Prescription Drug Law (learn the truth of
this bad legislation, write your representatives) 20 minutes

3. Tim Joseph-Chair of the Tompkins County legislators-talks on
the problems our counties in New York are having with our present health
care system. Why are your taxes to high? 16 minutes

4. The Clinton's health care plan-learn why the Clintons let you
down by not standing up to the to Corporate America. 15 minutes

These four videos will be repeated in this order thru-out the day. The
Tompkins County Health Care Task Force will be available all day to answer
your questions and listen to your concerns. Videos on the privatization of
Social Security and discussion will be available. Letters will be
available.

NOON—Medicaid Discussion. Join the Long Island Labor-Religion Coalition and elected offficials at the state and county level for an exploration of state take-over of the county portion of Medicaid.
