What can you do in the spirit of the FAST?
ISSUES FOR ACTION in 2007
Help end human trafficking in New York State.
Human trafficking is the buying and selling of women, men or children to be used in the commercial sex industry or in various forms of labor. It always involves the trafficker's exercise of control over the victim. New York is widely acknowledged to be a leading entry, transit and destination point for trafficking victims. And yet, NY has no law making human trafficking a crime. Efforts to get a strong anti-trafficking law passed in NY have failed until now. Let your elected officials know that you want a strong anti-trafficking law.

Support workers in the Campaign for Quality Care at NYSARC facilities.
Children and adults with developmental disabilities deserve the highest quality of care and services that can be provided. This quality care begins with making sure the people who provide that care—direct care workers— are treated with fairness and respect. Visit Quality Care NY for information about the campaign.
Work for justice for NY’s farmworkers.
In past years, the 40-hour FAST has helped to win drinking water and sanitation facilities for farmworkers. Now it’s time they gain the same protections offered to all other workers in our state. Click here to read more about the Justice for Farmworkers Campaign.
