The project grew out of a Labor-Religion commitment to address wage theft and other violations of worker protections.

Geovanny Triviño of the NYS Department of Labor (NYSDOL) and Rita Young of the Albany office, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) helped volunteers learn about the most common ways workers are put at risk or cheated out of wages and free help that’s available to win back wages and a safe workplace.

Joining the Labor-Religion Coalitions, the NYS DOL and OSHA were seven Caravan sponsors: the Capital District Area Labor Federation, the Greater Glens Falls Central Labor Council, New Sanctuary Movement for Immigrants, First Baptist Church of Glens Falls, CSEA Region 4, Workers United Local 471 and the Saratoga County Economic Opportunity Council.
